Throughout his work he explores overarching themes of existence, such as death, grief, desire, memory and the weight of history. His main fields of investigation are the misty landscapes of Iceland, as well as the savage Belgian High Fens with their surrounding forests.
Balthazar Blumberg is inspired by geological elements to create drawings and stories. He is particularly interested in the archival part of minerals and the infinite stories that these elements crystallize. He began his research in the field and in scientific collections to explore the relationship between human time and geological time.
Since March 2021 17 researchers and visual artists whose research subject is the relationship between the archive and the fictive have been collaborating in a group initiated by visual artist Claire Ducène. Céline Cuvelier (born 1988, BE, lives and works in Brussels) is a visual artist. Through her artistic research, she is personally involved in a working and reciprocal relationship with people detained in prisons and refugees in camps, in order to confront the realities of those who live on the edge of our societies.

Together with Margerita Pulè she recently commissioned the exhibition "The Ordinary Lives of Women" (Spazju Kreattiv, Malta).
